Fun with Forms!
Garryowen Schoolhouse
2005
>
This was fun for me last year . .
Please . ..  play along . ..

Tell me more about your dreams for this summer . .
My favorite work might be . . .

My favorite leisure activity might be  . . .
I'd like to learn more about  . . .

BUT, all joking aside, one important question is . ..

Whats your favorite wine? . .

Saturday July 30th through Friday August 5th, 2005
remaining until . . .
For those of you unfamiliar with the project, I am rescuing and re-inhabiting an 1872 one-room schoolhouse in the beautiful Canadian countryside. Every summer, for the last 10 years, I have bribed folks with food and drink and the lure of sweaty dirty hard labor, and we've accomplished a lot!  Come aboard, I can offer you the thrill of new skills, and the relaxation of a buccolic vacation from the mundane!  Scroll down for photos and other good stuff . . .  This year, the aggenda is still under review, but we do know we'll have fun!.

Directions and Other Thotz

okley dokley

begin directions
find a candian, preferably one raised  in Burlington
persuede him to direct you at least as far as Guelph, Ontario.
take route 6 north (you can retain the canadian if you wish)
through Fergus
to Chatsworth where hiways 6 and 10 join to become . . .
Hiway 6-10!
14 km later, in Owen Sound, one proceeds on the same road
through the suburban edge of town until, about three or four stop lights along,
one can take a right turn onto hiway 26, east towards Meaford
pass by all of the big box retail until you leave town,
and drive about 13 kilometers to the Irish Block Road.
The Irish Block Road is at the top of a hill, which is after a big valley,
which is after the municipal airport, which is after the golf course, which is after another big hill.
anyway, the Irish Block Road is right at the top of the hill as i said
and its a tricky left turn northwards.
turn north and proceed ALMOST to the second crossroads.
if you pass the second crossroads you've gone too far.
after the FIRST crossroads you will pass some fields,
and a tunnel of trees with a farm immediately on your left
then a woodlot on your left and a farm on your right
the schoolhouse is in the woodlot, on your left, looking out over the shallow valley
a lone tree on the right denotes the approximate location of the driveway.
ow.
my wrist hurts.
end directions

and so can my dad (less reliably)
